The 2011 John Smiths Grand National winner Ballabriggs is bang on course to try and win the big race for the second year running, according to trainer Donald McCain. The 10 year old has not been seen on track since his famous romp to Aintree glory last April. McCain has been talking about his plans to hit the road to Liverpool once again and is very happy with how things are.
Interview with Paul Nicholls recorded at the press conference in London on December 12th where the Somerset trainer confirmed that Kauto Star will attempt to win the King George Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day for a record 5th time. Nicholls also saddles Master Minded who like Kauto Star is owned by Clive Smith.
Trainer Paul Nicholls has paid tribute to Denman, one of the best steeplechasers of all time as he announced that he has been retired. Denman won a Cheltenham Gold Cup and was second in three more, lumped big weights to victory in two Hennessy Gold Cups and won a Sun Alliance Chase at the Festival in a glittering career. It's been ended by a slight tendon injury, which has ruled him out of the Lexus Chase at Leopardstown over Christmas. Paul Nicholls has been speaking with Mike Vince.
