Hi this is Randall. Sometimes I ask students why they want to live with the host family here in the United States and many students comment that they want to speak like a native speaker. However, I find that somewhat humorous because well listen, how many native speakers actually use the language correctly anyway? Not many. That is why it is important to take language classes so that you can actually learn when and how the languages is used correctly. Yes a native speaker can give you an idea of how the language might be used in the street, and you might become familiar with the accent; however, if you want to use English correctly and accurately then combining experience and exposure with native speakers and a structured language class can really give you the skills that you need to speak like a native speaker and even better.
