Hi. This is Randall. For some international students living with a home stay family in the local community where they're living can make a big difference in learning the language and culture. However, there are several things or keys to success in doing so. Number one, get involved with the family , do activities together, eat dinner together. Don't treat the situation like a hotel where you're at there during the night and then you go out and spend the rest the day with your friends. Number two, volunteer to do work at home: clean dishes, clean around the house. Again be a member of the family and number three, follow the rules of the family. If they say no smoking, don't smoke in the home or wherever they say. (If they don't say) if they tell you don't stay out late at night. Well, they're probably thinking about your safety. So keep those rules in mind.
