I believe there's more to a career than being a good employee. I believe sometimes we focus on work too much. I believe we focus on caring for one another too little. I believe everyone needs compassion. I have been a teacher for 9 years and I've taught a variety of subjects including Math, Science, Health and Physical Education. I became a teacher because I thought it is something I could do well. I thought it would be an enjoyable career because I would get to see students learning and growing everyday. Teachers can help students reach their goals so to be a better teacher I have embraced new strategies and tried to develop myself professionally as many ways as I could. After teaching for 9 years I realized that the experience and professional development is not what makes a good teacher. Too often I have focused on using the best strategies improving scores on standardized test and trying to get to the entire.
