Good morning everybody today we are going to be reading about a huge oil spill that happened in 1989 in Alaska. Now I know that no 4th graders here in our group were even born in 1989 but right now there is also a huge oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. You were witnessing this awful environmental disaster and watching as the oil company and our government try to clean up the water and save the marine mammals(?) and fish. As we ready this non fiction text I want you to pay particular attention to how the spill was cleaned up oh and see if you can guess the name of our book. I look forward to seeing you in our group. Goodbye.
