Gayla(?) ___ me for the students during the book introduction by allowing her students to draw from their personal experience. She ___ able sometime to tell about their own lives and ___ with the neighbor in the dark and things that they might have it there house ___ that was dark so she help ___ meaning that draw in from their prior knowledge at the topic in their personal experiences. Gayla(?) have the students make prediction about the pictures before they read the book. She wanted she wanted them to read they read through each picture and like read through the whole book.
Hello Leslie, this is your phone cast. It's Erin Monroe. To start off my help I'm just gonna go to reach my question and the, the thing I found best about Gayla making meaning for this change(?) was how she made it personal to each individual student. Her biggest question was what would you do if the light went on your house and ask each of them personally what they did, how they done and feel. Also later on she listens to their predictions about where Ben's dad might be. They all, they have bread(?) choice open before and they ended up Ben's status in the navy and he's gone often so he's gone. It was great that she made this and to look at the pictures before hand because it helped them think of ideas of what to do if the lights went out if they were in that situation and see what the catch is in the book then first solutions. It also helped explain the story
Hi Mandy this it's Claire. Just calling to tell you about what I saw in the video. So at first what happened is each child had their own book but everyone's was supposed to sing. They talked about the topics in the books specifically having the light and they related it to real life and that is how Gayla build meaning and they've talked about times when the lights are out in their house. And it just got their brains thinking about the topic, the main topic in the book. Then they looked at each picture and talked about what was in the pictures and they made predictions about what they think is gonna happen based on the pictures. After that they they talked about, let's see
