This weekend class we're doing a simulation on the Texas and Mexican war. Simulation takes place in the 1840's and this simulation is taken from the teach interact dot com workbook. In class what's happening is the students are dividing into 3 fractions. The first fraction is a pro work fraction which is headed by James Gay Polt(?). The second fraction is anti war fraction headed by Abraham Lincoln and the third fraction is an undecided fraction headed by Henry Clay and this has taken place like I said in the 1840's as representing congress decision as to whether we get a war with Mexico or not. On first day what happens is the student divide out into this 3 fractions. This can be done in a variety of ways. You can group kids by ability you can group them just kinda randomly. I decide to go with a random grouping kinda mix it up there's a lot of times. I group them by ability on the one.
