So most people when they think about government in their daily lives they think that most of it comes down from the state or even from Washington DC. In reality most of our daily lives are affected primarily by local governments. Local governments interpret the laws pass down by Washington DC and by the state legislature and sometimes the interpretations vary by city and county around the state. Some of the duties of local governments that affect our daily lives are the running of elections road maintenance utilities public safety educational access recreation and parks health services and funding through taxes to support.

Hello everybody. This is just Norm. Can you still tell it's getting worse it's getting bad. I'm gonna lose my voice again. I did go to the doctor today and they're gonna start running some Cat scan to my sinuses and chest to see what's going on but that's not the reason I'm putting out this edition of walk breaks promptly this edition of walk breaks cos I've been listening to my buddy Steve Walker kind of scout out the storm yes today is Monday the twenty ninth I think the twenty ninth and this storm of course that everybody's familiar with Sandy is battering the coast

I have an interesting graph to share with you that describes my weekly mileage since the first of the year. The analysis is fascinating in that it clearly shows that I’ve been running into a proverbial SLUMP of DOOM! But in the last few weeks, I’m starting to run out of it.
