This is Betsy Landers and I believe that music and the arts are a very important part of childhood education. Children who were exposed to music and the arts are generally happier more creative and seem to be more disciplined in their study. I believe that taking music out the curriculum is a huge mistake. When school budgets are cut the first class to be eliminated are usually the music classes band and choir. Learning music teaches a child to count to listen to participate in a team. To work together for a common goal. It teaches them to practice alone or with someone else and to perform. Band and choir are both team sports and have the same effect for some kids that sports do for others. Both band and choir functions as support groups for so many other school ___

I told myself and everybody else I would never do it. I promise myself I would never give in never let them win. I lost some friends to it. I wasn't about to ___. The people I left begged me not to do it. That decision was one of the best in my life. I will never regret my decision to begin playoffs field hockey. It all started December before fresh ___. My best friend Maya started playing in seventh grade and she left it. I also said I didn't like it but how can I say that if I would never play. Freshman year would be the year to start. The first year of high school sports. I decided to play not knowing anything about the sport. That whole summer Maya and I practice and she taught me many of the rules. Towards the end of the summer the cotton patch practices which coaches were allowed to go to. I was very nervous having no field hockey background. I knew all the girls play but my lack of knowledge for the sport
