Hello. This is Ashley Reyes. The essay that I've chosen to discuss today is called in praise of ___ by Ellen Goodman. In this essay Goodman argues that our era today and mostly is base all around technology. She does not agree at all with it's communications or anything that are ___ technology and exact communication should be base out in old school way such as face of this compact and mailing each other with real mail of return address and stamp. Reason why she just not agree with online contact is because she feels that due to this kind of hyper active technologies it cost people to lock full attention. This is Madeline Vental(?). I read Reflection ___ by Allen Goodman and the work chapter. I thought the selection was very interesting because I ___ Goodman without technology is now consuming our live. Goodman start the essay with examples of mailing a sympathy letter rather than emailing it and today as well they're so focus on how fast and quick we use technology to get things done. Goodman points out that we should take a step back disconnect from technology and that sending a letter that rather than emailing it takes more time but it is the time that counts. It tells the person that you truly care. Goodman mentions how online contact prevents face to face contact at company to prevent this from happening from companies.

Nick Mercury essay begins with the personal anecdote about an injury he faced because of playing football in high school and college. After explaining his somewhat his fatal injury Nick Mercury begins explaining his arguments that football and war have many similarities. Throughout his essay Nick Mercury describes the game of football in terms that ___ sounds like war. I like Nick Mercury does this in the passage on page four fifty six stating clearly art of football is no slicker than the rest of our society.
