This is Betsy Landers and I believe that music and the arts are a very important part of childhood education. Children who were exposed to music and the arts are generally happier more creative and seem to be more disciplined in their study. I believe that taking music out the curriculum is a huge mistake. When school budgets are cut the first class to be eliminated are usually the music classes band and choir. Learning music teaches a child to count to listen to participate in a team. To work together for a common goal. It teaches them to practice alone or with someone else and to perform. Band and choir are both team sports and have the same effect for some kids that sports do for others. Both band and choir functions as support groups for so many other school ___

I believe it is a huge mistake to take music out of the curriculum. When school budgets are cut the first classes cut are usually music classes. Choir and band. When I look back at the impact that ___ right on my life I believe deep in my heart they're cutting music has a negative effect on a school program. I believe that we must find a way to make ends meet without eliminating such a finally important subject.
