Matt Oechsli is one of the leading authorities regarding marketing, selling, servicing and developing loyalty with affluent clients. Matt is one of the most sought after speakers in the financial services industry, delivering over 200 speeches per year. His firm conducts ongoing research projects on the affluent and has been able to determine (with statistical significance) how the affluent make major purchase decisions, the criteria they use in selecting a "go-to" financial advisor, what they look for in a personal banking relationship, and more. Welcome to week 4 of public speaking. This week we will have a meeting on Saturday and give our impromptu speeches. At this point there is nothing you need to do in preparation for the impromptu speech. You just need to show up on Saturday and be ready to write a short two to three minute speech. You also need to complete speaker evaluation number one and bring it to class. I will see you all on Saturday and I hope you have a great week.

Resolve. Sarah Palin is an excellent role model. My first contention is that Sarah Palin is an excellent role model because she is not afraid to speak her mind. For example she's not afraid to speak her mind while giving speeches in front of lots and lots of people even when she's running for vice president. My second contention is that she's a go getter and she doesn't let people get in her way. For example she is going to run for president and she's not letting anyone else get in her way including other candidates. My third contention is that she get things done. Like for example building the bridge nowhere would stop because of her. My call to action is that Sarah Palin is an excellent role model and everyone should be exposed to her at a young age.

Tags: Jeff Havens, Uncrapify Your Life, How To Get Fired
A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Vanderbilt University, Jeff began his career as a high school English teacher before following his father Rex Havens (RexHavens.com) into the world of stand-up comedy, where he worked with some of the brightest lights in American comedy and honed the art of engaging audiences through laughter. But his impulse to teach never faded, and soon he began looking for an avenue to combine both of his passions into entertaining and meaningful presentations. The result is Uncrapify Your Life!, How to Get Fired!, and Unleash Your Inner Tyrant! and since their introduction Jeff has brought his unique, side-splitting, message-based lectures and keynote addresses to General Electric, Ford Motor Company, USBank, University of Wisconsin, Purdue, and hundreds of other corporations and colleges in the United States and Canada. Original, informative, hilarious and powerful, Jeff’s speeches have transformed the way businesspeople and college students approach the idea of personal and professional growth. In the words of one conference attendee, “I laughed until I had tears in my eyes – and walked away feeling better about work than I have in years. The reverse psychology is a great way to get the point across, and he does a wonderful job of it.” Jeff is also a regular guest on Fox Business News and has been featured in Business Week, the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, AOL, and dozens of other regional and national media outlets.
