ELIZABETH JACKSON: I'm going to finish this program in the way we started it, with Philip Williams. Only this time the mood is quite different - you could almost say festive. In the UK, the race to the music charts' Christmas number one is almost as highly anticipated as Santa's arrival himself. In the 60 years since the official UK Singles Chart began, the top spot has been claimed by a wide range of artists from The Beatles to The Spice Girls to Pink Floyd. It hasn't been without its controversies, as our Europe correspondent Phil Williams explains. ('Christmas Is All Around', from 'Love Actually' soundtrack plays) PHILIP WILLIAMS: As a pretty ordinary harmonica player and an even worse singer, my dreams of a number one record have receded with my hairline. But someone has to claim that shifting crown, and at Christmas in Britain there's a distinctly un-Christmas-y scramble for number one honours. Remember the movie 'Love Actually'?

Was the inspiration for Harry Potter's Hogwarts, Quinta da Regaleira? An exuberant Palace built between 1900 and 1910 by Antonio Augusto de Carvalho to the designs of the Italian architect Luigi Manini. The neo-manueline design weaves a story of mythology, alchemy and magic. Tucked away in the Sintra hills above Lisbon, the link to the moon goddess is supposedly strong. Unpack Regaleira and you are left with gaia.
Hello this is Misty again and we've had an amazing first day in Finland we woke up to just to simply beautiful morning all the trees around us were really sort of heavy with snow and it was just one of those really gorgeous winter scenes where snow is everywhere it was very calm actually still so where we're staying was right on the side of the lake. So when we went out on to the lake shore it was just absolutely silent there was not a sound and everything was muted by the heavy snow cover every where and even the trees you'll see they just weren't moving at all. It's absolutely glorious and we wandered into the place ___ staying and very kindly the lady who owns the place that invited ___ and there's lots of different types and ___

Hello this is a big hello from the Polo Cole team at the very top of Norway. We've gone as far north as we possibly can and we're at a place called Norcat(?) right now which is the end of the road. You literally drop into the sea and we can see the sea right in front of us so it's at top of a cliff but even though it's not like we just climb to the top of Mount Everest or anything we haven't had to clear the road today it still feels like a bit of an achievement to get here because we've been waiting through a storm yesterday and then waiting for all the ___ to get blown off the road today and we finally made it in the convoy right to the end of the road today so it feels like a little bit of an achievement on our part to get right as far north as you possibly can and this for us is as north as we're going to get. The next stop from here is the North Pole. So we have to stop here and we won't get this far north again in latitude terms even when we get out to Siberia so this is furthest North from us so we're all having a
