Series 1 of the BadCast far exceeded our expectations, not only in popularity, but in content. We tried something that had never been done before, and wiped the floor with pretty much every UK based PodCast out there! Well demand has been high for the return of the BadCast, and so I have decided to restart it. However one of the biggest problems I faced was the content, we simply didn't have enough. So if you do want to be a part of things then please do let me know. In the meantime I will go back to our old trusty Patrick, who will provide us with the sort of exclusive interviews that only Patrick can do. But I thought we should have something a bit different before I let Patrick loose on the microphone, so instead the first episode of the second series of The BadCast will feature a special 1 hour recording of a Skeptics in the Pub event! But instead of the usual "Pat yourself on the back" type of speaker that so many SitP events have, Birmingham Skeptics happen to be a bit different and a bit better than everyone else. So we will bring to you the ever controversial Professor Steve Fuller. Here is the full blurb: "Professor Steve Fuller has never shied away from tackling controversial subjects. He is the author of many books that challenge the accepted interpretations and conventions of science and testified on behalf of the “Intelligent Design” protagonists in the Kitzmiller vs Dover Area School District trial in 2005. In his book “Science, the Art of Living”, Fuller argues that science is undergoing its own version of secularization. It is not that people are coming to lose their faith in science per se but rather they are losing the compulsion to conform to a specific orthodoxy that is upheld by a specially anointed class of 'science priests'." Steve's challenging the skeptics folks, come and hear what he has to say." So if you have ever wanted to know what a SitP event was like, here is your chance.
