Thank you for calling attention to the particular hardships women face not just in times of war and conflict, but when food security is threatened. Generally speaking, women often eat last and least despite the nutritional and caloric standards they need to maintain; instead they focus on the needs of their families and communities, especially in times of hardship. Also women's contributions to agriculture and the work involved in nourishing and supporting families and communities often goes unnoticed or is consistently undervalued.
